Tuesday

Today we finished looking at the apartments and made our choice. We will apply and hope we get it. It is a brand new, three bedroom, two storey with a large balcony facing the mountains. It is on the top floor of a six storey secured  building with parking and a storage area for bikes...basically a penthouse. When we go for a second visit, I will take pictures.
Our hotel room overlooks the 1968 Olympic flame located in the park across the street. We took a walk around the park but struggle to find our way around the town because the same street changes name at every intersection.
It's very warm here, 30 degrees today but it isn't the norm for this time of the year. Ate lunch in a courtyard of a new shopping complex created around refurbished military barracks. We find the city is not just about tourism but really are making changes geared for the residents.
We received a tiny bottle of Charteuse, a digestive made by monks that live in the mountains nearby. The recipe is known only to them. Visiting the museum is on our list of places we would like to see.
Tonight we are going out for a dinner at a restaurant that came highly recommended. When Laurent went to make the reservation, he was told no name was required, she would recognize his face.
